Today, Click on! Design that adapts in The Junction is closed in memory of the co-founder Frances Smershwho passed away a year ago today.

Frances and Click! co-founder John Smersh says the future of the store (4540 California SW; WSB sponsor) is about to be decided, one way or another.

As reported here four months ago, Click! has been put up for sale. John has a potential buyer, but there is a third party in the deal: “Although we would like to remain optimistic that our potential new landlord and our landlord will come to an agreement on a lease, at present the landlord is asking for a rent increase which would be unsustainable for our business model, and as such our deal could fail. , we have liquidated the remaining inventory with a reduction of 20-40%.”

So one way or another, Click! will close “in the next few days”, he says – whether temporarily or permanently, it depends. If it is the first, “a new owner could take over as early as October 1, after a short transition break”. If the latter: “If we do not reopen under new ownership, we will remain closed, grateful for the 18 years of love that the West Seattle community has bestowed on us. We are honored to have been entrusted with curating a collection of gifts and home accessories for our friends and neighbors.

John says the current plan, subject to change, is for Click! will be open – with the clearance sale continuing – 11am-6pm Wednesday (September 7) and 11am-8pm Thursday (September 8, open late for the West Seattle Art Walk).
