Rams fans line up at the Grove for their Super Bowl merchandise – CBS Los Angeles

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – It’s been 29 years since Los Angeles hosted a Super Bowl.

In a week, Los Angeles will host the big game again, but this time the city’s team will be one of two teams competing in the Super Bowl on Sunday.

With the Rams scheduled to play Super Bowl LVI at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood on Sunday, Feb. 13 against the Cincinnati Bengals, Rams fans lined up to get their gear for the big game.

There’s no shortage of excitement in Southland as the Rams prepare to play their second Super Bowl since returning to Los Angeles in 2016.

Die-hard fans spent their time and money shopping for Super Bowl merchandise at the Rams Equipment Room store at The Grove in the Fairfax District.

Most fans only wanted one thing: a replica Rams Super Bowl jersey.

“If you’re a fan…well worth the wait…” Onesimo Vera said.

But federal officials say: not so fast.

There are other sneaky ways to find Rams memorabilia.

Federal customs officials are therefore working to prevent the sale of fake and counterfeit equipment to unsuspecting buyers.

“Counterfeiting is a crime. It’s nothing more than theft,” said Carlos Matel, a U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer. “Make sure you buy items from legitimate sources, people licensed to sell branded products. If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

That’s why fans like Tanya Graive haven’t been shy about pouring her time and money into some genuine stuff.
