The famous Wawa convenience store chain could soon arrive in Alabama.
In a statement, the Pennsylvania-based chain said it plans to expand its footprint in the “Florida region, as well as adjacent markets of Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee, as well as Mobile, Alabama.” .
Current plans call for Wawa to open 40 stores in these markets, with the first locations to open in 2024.

No specific site has been announced.
Wawa currently operates stores in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Florida and Washington, DC. It is best known for its freshly made sandwiches, custom salads and rice bowls, as well as its fuels and groceries.
