Main Street Electric Parade Merchandise Launch – NBC Los Angeles

Parades proliferate in our spectacle-obsessed world, and we can probably name all of our favorite floats in our favorite holiday-themed and cute processions for the community.

But there’s a brilliant parade of light bulbs and large characters that twinkles brightly in our collective imagination, and it’s been ahead by a neck – do the long, long neck of Elliott the Dragon – for half a century.

It’s the Main Street Electrical Parade, an illuminated extravaganza that has become synonymous with Disneyland and Disney California Adventure.

He’s whimsically roamed Anaheim’s two theme parks multiple times over the past 50 years, as well as Walt Disney World, but the colorful cavalcade got its brilliant start at The Happiest Place on Earth in 1972.

Now, the nighttime spectacular returns to Main Street USA, starting April 22, 2022, all to celebrate its 50th anniversary.

And add punch as the show returns to its original home?

Adorable clothes, which have been created especially for this magical moment. Cool clothes mean guests can change into their bright outfits before finding a place to enjoy the parade and all those dynamic vehicles, including the brand new super long grand finale float.

Fans of these famous and whimsical tanks can find them depicted in phosphorescent ink on a new t-shirt, while leggings, with quirky designs, also add to the magic of the MSEP.

Oh yeah, we said “MSEP” because this parade is so beloved and timeless that it’s earned its own acronym within the fandom, and beyond.

A headband with ears, with a large yellow bow, a backpack (Elliott the Dragon, one of the longtime superstars of the parade, is presented, as are Alice and Mickey Mouse) and a dress emblazoned with the words “luminescent in black”. accents”, and a bright pink belt highlighting the 50th anniversary of the show, are also part of the all-new range.

And if you’re wearing your MSEP t-shirt or dress, where’s your treat, the one that’s also catwalk-themed?

Disneyland recently unveiled a tantalizing list of Main Street Electrical Parade-inspired themed meals, as well as a Plaza Inn dining package.

As for nighttime snacks?
