Home Depot workers threatened with knives in robbery: Ithaca police seek public help


The Ithaca Police Department is investigating a theft that took place at the Home Depot on Elmira Road.

Upon arrival, officers spoke to employees who said they saw a suspect pull out of the store a shopping cart containing a large amount of unpaid merchandise.

Employees said they followed the suspect outside the store where they attempted to confront him for not paying for the merchandise.

At that point, the suspect drew a knife and threatened the employees with it before fleeing.

The stolen merchandise was picked up nearby and an investigation is ongoing.

Police said anyone with information that could assist with the investigation is asked to call 607-272-3245.
