(CNN) – Black Friday is not for 53 days. For Amazon, however, it starts today.
Amazon has started rolling out “Black Friday-worthy deals” to kick off the expected holiday shopping season due to shipping and supply chain issues. Amazon on Monday announced “deep discounts in all categories,” including fashion, home goods, toys and electronics, which will be available on a special webpage.
Popular brands, such as Apple, KitchenAid, and Hasbro, will also get discounts on certain “selected days” in October and November. New offers will also be added every day for the next two months.
Amazon is also adding a new tool for US-based Prime members who purchase on its app. They can now send a gift without knowing the recipient’s address. Instead, they can enter the person’s cell phone number or email address and they will be alerted of the purchase or have the option to redeem it for an Amazon gift card without notifying the customer. sender.
Target announced last week that it is also getting ahead of the shopping season earlier than ever. It brings back the “Deal Days” on October 10 for three days which includes “savings on thousands of items” and will be available in store and online.
Customers should expect a stressful shopping season. Growing demand coupled with shortages of shipping containers and bottlenecks in ports have already triggered a tighter supply of products, from cars to shoes. In the United States, the United States Postal Service has increased prices during the peak holiday shopping season due to more people shopping online. FedEx is also adding a fuel surcharge on certain shipments, including FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and FedEx Freight shipments, starting November 1.
